Presented is a beautiful and rare sterling silver pierced ladle spoon from Reed and Barton, probably a berry ladle. The piece is in the La Reine pattern, which was patented in 1893. This pattern displays fancy scrolls in high relief on the handle. The bowl has a fluted shape with a scalloped edge and star-shaped piercings. The front cartouche is monogrammed “FA” in a flowing script.
The reverse is marked sterling along with the maker's mark for Reed and Barton.
This piece is in great overall condition. The gold wash is mostly worn. The pattern decorations are crisp. There are no breaks and no repairs.
