Beautiful Pearl Sapphire & 14K Gold Multi Strand Seashell Necklace

Presented is a gorgeous pearl, sapphire bead and 14 karat gold necklace. This is a modern piece, probably made in America. The necklace consists of three strands of pearls, two freshwater and one round, tapering to two mingled strands and then a single strand at the back. The pearls are interspersed with blue sapphire beads and 14 karat gold barrel shaped beads at regular intervals. The focal point of the necklace is a heavy 14 karat gold seashell, like a whelk shell, very realistically done.
The necklace is in great condition. The clasp functions well and closes securely. Two of the sapphire beads have been replaced with faceted blue beads, but these two replacement beads are far up the necklace, near to the clasp/nape of the neck, and so would be hard to notice when the necklace is being worn.
The clasp is stamped 14k. The pendant is marked 14k, copyright JAF, and dated 1979.
The necklace is about 26 3/4 inches long.
The necklace weighs 35 grams. We estimate that 12-14 grams of this weight is 14 karat gold, considering the heavy shell pendant, the beads and the clasp.
