Presented is a fabulous pair of antique French Samson porcelain vases. These vases date to around the early 1900s or very late 1800s. The vases are beautifully hand painted with floral garlands, sprays of flowers in various colors, and larger bouquets front and back. The necks of the vases have a gold gilt chain or ribbon design, with gold ribbon designs beneath, from which the floral swags appear to hang. The mouth and foot have a rich gold gilt rim.
This pair of vases is in excellent overall condition. One vase has some crazing at one spot around the shoulder, but this is not very noticeable. There are some dark spots to the gilt chain/ribbon decoration around the necks of the vases visible in the photos, but these are just dirt which we have since cleaned off. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.
Both vases are marked on the underside with Samson pseudo Chinese export marks in red.
Each vase stands about 9 5/8 inches tall and measures about 5 inches in diameter. -jm
