Regular price
$1,803.00
Presented is a lovely English sterling silver handled basket. This piece dates to 1912. The sides of the basket are nicely pierced with floral designs, as is the handle. The basket is raised on four stylized paw feet. This is a well constructed piece, made from thick, sturdy silver, with a nice feeling of weight to it.
The rim of the basket is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor for the city of Birmingham, the date letter n for 1912, and the maker's mark for Williams of Birmingham LTD. The handle is also hallmarked with the lion passant and date letter.
This piece is in great overall condition. There has been an old solder repair to the handle, which is very hard to notice, it can't be seen from the exterior. There are no splits, no dents, no monograms, and no monogram removals.
The basket measures about 13 1/2 by 8 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches (LxWxD).
This piece weighs 903.3 grams or 31.6 regular ounces.
