Presented is a beautiful sterling silver pierced flat tomato server from Frank Smith, although this piece can be used to serve many things. This piece is in the Countess pattern, which was patented in 1928. The pattern displays elegant scrolls and a threaded edge. The serving end has pretty cast flowers. The front of the handle is monogrammed C, in a Gothic script.
The reverse is marked sterling along with the maker's mark for Frank Smith and the retailer E. Wiggers.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. The pattern decorations are well-defined. There are no breaks, no splits, and no repairs.
