Presented is a beautiful Chinese cloisonne bowl, with carved wooden stand. Though this piece dates to around the 1950s-1980s, the style is timeless. The interior of the bowl is a lovely rich blue ground, with a black scalloped rim and a colorful flowering prunus tree in the center, a little butterfly to one side. The background has a cloud pattern done in the same bright gilt wire that forms the borders of all the flowers, branches, and the butterfly. The exterior of the bowl is decorated with the same type of five petal prunus flowers, likely cherry rather than plum based on the color, as well as another butterfly and a spray red and white flowers. The bowl is a good useable size, great as a fruit or centerpiece bowl or simply for display on its own, particularly with the dark carved wood stand.
This piece is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no dents,no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.
The bowl measures about 10 inches in diameter and stands about 3 3/8 inches tall at the rim, or 5 1/4 inches on the stand. -jm
