Beautiful c1900 Chinese Silver Filigree Dragon Holding Pearl Bangle Bracelet
Regular price
$173.00
Presented is a wonderful quality antique Chinese silver dragon bracelet, dating to the late 1800s or early 1900s. The bracelet is in the form of a coiled Chinese dragon with a silver 'pearl' in its mouth, the head and tail done in a detailed filigree wirework style. The body of the dragon is a finely woven silver mesh over a core of some kind which we are not sure is silver, since it is covered by the mesh, but from what I can see it does look like silver.
This bracelet is in great overall condition. The filigree is intact, but there are a couple of minor bends to the silver wire on some of the decoration of the dragon's head. No breaks or repairs.
This bracelet is stamped on the underside of the dragon's head with two Chinese marks, partially rubbed; one is for silver, the other is likely a maker's mark. The silver is nitric acid tested and guaranteed at least 900 purity.
The bracelet has an interior circumference of about 7 1/2 inches, so it will fit a wrist of this size or smaller, though given the design it can be (gently) adjusted as well. The band is about 5 millimeters in diameter.
This bracelet weighs 29 grams. -jm
