Presented is a charming little antique German 800 silver spoon, dating to the late 1800s or early 1900s. The bowl of the spoon is beautifully chased and decorated with a classical floral and foliate designs at the top, with a fluted scallop shell look to the rest of the bowl. The spoon has a well decorated stem of lavish Rococo-style scrollwork topped by a putti and terminating openwork flourish, all nicely detailed and well done.
The bowl of the spoon is stamped in the bowl with the German crescent and crown mark including 800 for the purity of the silver, as well as a maker's mark for J. D. Schleissner & Sohne. The C mark is unidentified.
This piece is in excellent condition. The details of the designs are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece measures about 6 3/4 inches long.
