Beautiful Antique American Brilliant Period Cut Glass Carafe Decanter Vase
Regular price
$152.00
Presented is a lovely American Brilliant Period cut glass carafe. This piece is unsigned, like many ABP pieces, but the high quality of the work suggests a high end, well known maker like Hawkes, Tuthill, Dorflinger, or the like. The carafe is a round bodied bottle form, with a tapered neck and flared rim. The body is intricately cut with large hob stars, sections of fine diamond cut design, and other dazzling decoration, while the neck is done in a paneled design with fine zipper cuts along the high points.
The pitcher will hold about 5 cups (1.18 liters/40 fluid ounces) when filled to a reasonable level.
This piece is in great overall condition. There is some minor shelf wear to the underside, as you'd expect. The rim of the mouth has a couple of minor chips, though these could be professionally ground down. There are no other chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. No sickness or clouding to the glass.
The carafe stands about 6 7/8 inches tall, and measures about 6 1/2 inches in diameter -jm
