Attractive VTG Platinum & ~2.25ct Diamond Filigree Pin / Brooch

Presented is a dazzling platinum and diamond filigree pin or brooch. This piece dates to around the 1920s and was made by Riker Bros. The pin is done in a lovely filigree openwork design, with a stylish milgrain finish. The pin is set
with 17 total diamonds. The center diamond is an old mine cut stone, about 65 points in size. The two diamonds set one on either end of the pin are about 50 points each, also mine cut stones. The largest three diamonds are SI clarity,
they have inclusions but are eye-clean and very attractive. The center stone is J color, with the large end stones being J/K color. The remaining 14 smaller diamonds are mine cut stones, SI to I clarity and H color, totaling about 60
points, very dazzling and sparkly in their platinum setting. The total diamond weight is about 225 points, or two and a quarter carats. The pin has an old lever style safety clasp.

The pin is in great overall condition. The clasp functions well and closes securely. The diamonds are securely set. The center diamond has a chip from the girdle down the back, but this is not really visible from the front of the
piece, and is quite hard to notice at all unless using a jeweler's loup and good light. All three stones are eye-clean but have a carbon inclusion visible with a jeweler's loup. The clasp functions well and closes securely. There are no
breaks and no repairs.

The pin is stamped platinum and with the maker's mark for Riker Bros, on the back of the pin itself. The clasp is stamped 14k, which applies only to the clasp/shaft mechanism itself.

The pin weighs 6.9 grams.

The pin is about 2 1/2 inches long.
