Presented is a stunning antique American Brilliant Period cut glass and sterling silver double handle vase, dating to circa 1895-1910. The body of the piece is by Hawkes, and features gorgeous brilliant cut decoration in the form of flowers and their intricate, flowing stems. The mouth of the vase has a wide, heavy sterling silver collar, featuring the same floral and flowing stems design, beautifully hand chased. The decoration of the piece is all done in the height of the Art Nouveau style, sinuous and organic and richly detailed.

This piece is in excellent condition. There is some minor shelf wear to the underside, but nothing more than you'd expect. There are some minor abrasions around the neck just under the silver, which you can see in the seventh photograph. The silver is original and securely mounted, with no splits, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs. The glass has no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.

The silver is stamped Theodore B. Starr, New York, and sterling. The glass is signed Hawkes just under one of the handles.

This piece stands about 8 inches tall at the rim and measures about 9 inches across the handles. The mouth has a diameter of about 5 3/4 inches, and the base is about 4 1/8 inches. -jm
