Presented is an elegant 14K gold, peridot and pearl bar pin. The pin has an attractive openwork design with a square peridot prong set at the center and four little pearls on either side. The peridot measures approximately 6 millimeters square. We estimate the carat weight of the center stone to be around 1 carat. The pin was made around the first quarter of the 1900s, certainly in the United States.
The pin is stamped 14K on the clasp. It is also stamped 14 karat in two other locations. We have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 14K gold.
The peridot has a small chip to one corner, but this is only noticeable upon close inspection. There are also some very minor surface abrasions to the stone. Otherwise, the pin is in great shape. There are no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
The pin measures 1/2 inch by 2 1/2 inches.
The weight is 4.7 grams.
