Presented is a great Art Nouveau sterling silver server of heavy weight made by the Watson Company. This piece is in the lovely Orchid pattern, which was patented in 1903, just about the height of the Art Nouveau movement in the United States. This piece is most certainly old production, and this pattern is quite hard to find. The thick handle is beautifully cast with a raised, detailed orchid flower. The decorative leaves of the flower flow down the rest of the handle. The base is pointed and rather large.
The back of the handle is marked with the Watson hallmark and sterling.
This piece is in fabulous overall condition. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals and no repairs.
The server measures 9 3/4 inches long and weighs 126.5 grams or 4.5 ounces.
