Presented is an antique, sterling silver serving spoon made or retailed by Bigelow, Kennard & Co during the 1870s. The large serving spoon is decorative and a good weight for its size. The front of the handle and the bowl are beautifully hand engraved with design. The front of the handle has an old, original monogram of the letter R and the bowl has a very light gold wash.
The back is marked Bigelow, Kennard & Co and 925 for sterling silver purity.
This piece is in excellent overall condition for its age and the engravings are crisp. There is minor surface wear to the back of the spoon, but no damages and no repairs.
