Presented is an antique, sterling silver pierced ladle or berry strainer made by Gorham during the late 19th century. This piece is in the Antique, Knickerbocker, Gorham or London pattern, of all which were patented in the 1880s. This piece is old, original production. The ruffled or lobed bowl has a light gold wash and is pierced. The front of the handle has an ornate, hand engraved monogram of the initials MML.
The back is marked for Gorham and sterling silver purity.
This piece is in great condition for its age, with minimal surface wear commensurate with age and use.
