Presented is a fantastic Towle sterling silver salad serving set, consisting of a spoon and fork. This set is made in the popular Canterbury pattern, which began production in 1893. This pattern features a beaded edge and foliate scroll motifs. The bowl of the spoon has a rich gold wash. The body of the fork is done in an interesting openwork style. These pieces can be used together as a salad serving set, or individually for a wide variety of serving purposes.
This set is in great condition. The gold wash of the bowl of the spoon is in great shape. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no cracks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
Both pieces are stamped with the Towle maker's mark as well as sterling 925/1000 and copyright. The spoon also has a retail mark for A. M. Mossman.
The spoon is about 8 7/8 inches long. The fork is about 9 1/4 inches long.
The total weight for the set is 147 grams or 5.2 regular ounces.
