Presented is a wonderful sterling silver repousse bowl by Canfield Bro. & Co. of Baltimore during the second half of the 1800s. The bowl features beautifully hand-chased flowers and leaves against a stippled background, with an applied decorative border at the top, handles and feet. The interior of the bowl features an eye-catching design of dandelion-like flowers, and has a monogram of ADW in elegant script. This is a very beautiful and well-made piece of silver work, quite large and heavy, and would be an asset to any table or collection.
The bowl is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no monogram removals and no repairs.
The underside of the bowl is stamped with the hallmark for Canfield Bros. & Co, and sterling.
The bowl has dimensions of approximately 9 1/4 x 7 x 4 inches.
The bowl weighs 692 grams.
