Antique Sterling Silver Knowles Lexington Mount Vernon Ice Cream Slice Knife

Presented is a lovely, completely sterling silver ice cream knife or cake knife made by J.B. & S.M. Knowles Company during the early 1900s. This piece is in the Lexington a.k.a. Mount Vernon pattern, which was patented in 1900. This piece is old, original production. The handle as well as the blade are sterling silver and the handle has no filler so the whole piece, all of the weight, is completely sterling. Both sides of the handle have a nice beaded border and an embellishment at the tip; one side has a C monogram.

The blade is marked with the Knowles & Co hallmark and sterling.

This piece is in excellent overall condition. There is some surface wear on the sides of the handle but it is very minimal. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs.

The knife measures 10 1/4 inches long and weighs 84 grams or 2.9 ounces.
