Presented is an antique, sterling silver large serving or casserole spoon made by Gorham during the late 1800 or very early 1900s. This piece is in the Old Baronial pattern, which was patented in 1898 and it is old, original production. The handle is beautiful cast with scrolls, fruit and leaves and there is lion face accent at the top. This piece has never been monogrammed. The large bowl has a light gold wash.
The back of is marked for Gorham, sterling silver purity and patent 1898.
This piece is in excellent overall condition for its age and the designs are crisp. There is some very minor wear to the bowl and the gilding on the back, but this is hardly noticeable.
