Presented is an antique, sterling silver serving spoon made by Durgin during the late 1800s or early 1900s. This large serving piece is done in the Chrysanthemum pattern, which was patented in 1893. The handle and top of the bowl are beautifully chased with detailed chrysanthemum flowers and leaves. The bowl has a gold wash and the front of the handle has a script monogram of the initials EMR.

The back is marked for Durgin, patent, sterling silver purity and a retailer's mark for Bailey, Banks & Biddle.

This piece is in great overall condition and the designs are crisp. There is minimal surface wear with no damages and no repairs.
