Presented is a very pretty little silver counter or pill box with hand repousse flowers, flowing scroll leaves and finely detailed borders complimented by a hand-chased texture throughout, except for a lovely polished rim around the sides of the cover. The silver work is very beautiful! This will keep your pills or other small valuables safe and sound with its snug fitting top.
A note to collectors: This little box has the appearance of an English Georgian period antique, but it was possibly made as late as the first quarter of the 1900's, and could be American. given that the top is decorated with a poinsettia flower, not known to Europe until last century.
The piece is unmarked but tests as high grade silver and is guaranteed as such for you.
The condition of the box is good and the designs are clear and complete. Seam is tight and bottom is sound. The top has a small ding and the bottom shows a dent, as you can view in our photos. The box still functions nicely and the cover fits well, as mentioned.
