Antique Rare 1886 Dutch Silver Large Serving Spoon 9 5/8"
Regular price
$396.00
Presented is an interesting, Dutch silver serving spoon made in 1886 for import to France. This antique piece is large and has good weight for its size. The handle is done in a classical, openwork form with face decorations and embellishments. The top of the handle has a flat base, which you can solder or epoxy anything to, this is kind of like your own customizable antique spoon! There is a crest on the back of a bowl a bow, arrow and target in a ribboned shield.
The piece is marked with the Dutch Minerva head duty mark, the lion passant for .833 purity silver, a date letter B for the year 1886 and a French import mark.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. The base at the top once had a figure attached to it, which has since been removed. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs.
The spoon measures 9 5/8 inches long and weighs 142 grams or 5 ounces.
