Presented is an antique Japanese Meiji period Satsuma pottery vase made during the late 1800s or early 1900s. This is a wonderful quality, lavishly decorated piece. The vase is fabulously hand painted and hand gilded, with incredibly detailed and intricate floral decorations as well as birds and butterflies. The vase is decorated in a variety of colors, but gold and red are the most prominent from a distance.
The underside has no signature, but there is an old label.
This piece is in great condition. There is some crazing throughout, as is characteristic of Satsuma pieces.
There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.
