Presented is an incredible quality, cloisonne enamel on copper plate, charger or platter made during the Meiji era in Japan during the late 1800s or early 1900s. This piece is completely handmade and the attention to detail as well as the craftsman ship is amazing. The plate has 3 circle-shaped sections that are decorated with a crane or heron, colorful lotus flowers and a butterfly. The rim is designed with a green leaf pattern. The plate has a foot-rim.
This piece is in great condition, especially for its age. There are tiny bubble bursts to the enamel, done in the original making. There are also areas of glaze skips, especially next to the cloisonné wires. There are no chips and no other flaws.
