Antique Heavy Russian Silver Fiddle Soup Table Place Spoons 8 3/8"
Regular price
$720.00
Presented is a fine old set of 4 Russian silver spoons. The spoons are done in the classic Fiddle pattern. They have not been monogrammed or engraved. They are quite large, and would be perfect for use as serving spoons!
Each spoon is hallmarked on the reverse with the 84 mark for Russian 875 purity silver, an assay master’s mark of AC, and a date of 186?. We cannot discern the last number of the date. Since these spoons were made in the 1860s they are at least 140 years old. The spoons also have a city mark which appears to be for the city of Minsk.
The spoons are in good overall condition. They have some light surface wear commensurate with their age, and a few dents have been professionally removed from the bowls and the tops of some of the handles. This is minor. There are no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs.
Each spoon is 8 3/8 inches long.
The combined weight is 269 grams or 9.4 ounces.
