This beautiful three-handled trophy, or loving cup, was custom made for the class of 1908 and is believed to have been presented a second time on September 29, 1917, to Gerald Lewis Buhrman. The piece has significant weight, reflecting its substantial sterling silver construction.
The trophy features fifteen names listed on one of its three sides, commemorating members of this prestigious society. The Book and Snake Society is an exclusive senior society at Yale University founded in 1863, making it the fifth oldest society at the university.
