Presented is a fabulous quality, solid sterling silver serving spoon made by Gorham around the turn of the 20th century. This piece is done in the Old Baronial pattern, which was patented in 1898. The handle is ornately decorated and has a lion's head accent at the top. The piece once has a gold wash that has since faded. The front of the handle has an old, original monogram of the initials MEA.
The back is marked for Gorham, patent 1898 and sterling.
This piece is in great overall condition and the designs are crisp. There is minor surface wear commensurate with age and use, but no damages and no repairs.
