Presented is an antique, Georgian pewter and natural cowrie shell snuff box made during the late 1700s to early 1800s, circa the 1780s-1830s. The shell is securely mounted with pewter along one side and the border is decorative. The metal top has a hinged lid. This box was probably made in England, but could be continental European as well.
This piece is in great overall condition for its age. The shell is in good shape and securely mounted. The lid snaps shut nicely.
