Presented is an antique, English sterling silver gravy or sauce ladle made by George Smith II and Thomas Hayter of London in 1801. This Georgian, very early 19th century piece is done in a classic pattern with a rounded tip. The ladle has no monogram.
The back is marked with the leopard's head for the city of London, the lion passant for sterling silver, a duty mark of the king's head, a date letter F for the year 1801 and a maker's mark for George Smith II & Thomas Hayter.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. There is minor surface wear commensurate with age and use, but there are no damages and no repairs.
