Antique Fab 14k Gold & Cut Glass / Crystal Perfume Scent Bottle w Star Design
Regular price
$576.00
Presented is a lovely cut glass or crystal scent bottle, with a 14 karat gold lid. This piece dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s, and is of continental European origin, possibly Dutch. The lid is finely hand engraved with a large star, with smaller stars in between its arms. The lid is well constructed in a hinged design, opening to reveal a little glass stopper that doubles as an applicator/dauber for the perfume the bottle would hold. The glass is beautifully cut, done in an elegant paneled balustroid form.
This piece is in good overall condition. The gold has been remounted to the glass at some point, with a couple of spot repairs, but this is hard to notice without close, careful inspection. The glass has no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.
The gold is stamped with a leaf shaped hallmark we unfortunately do not recognize. We have tested the gold with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 14 karat gold.
This piece is about 3 7/8 inches tall.
This piece weighs 68 grams, though of course the majority of the weight is in the glass.
