Presented is a fine pair of English sterling silver tongs. The tongs are beautifully engraved with an elegant floral design on the arms and an open cartouche at the top. This engraving is quite a bit different from what you usually find on Georgian tongs.
The tongs are hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver and a maker’s mark of IS for John Sidaway.
The condition is excellent. There are no dents, no dings, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs.
The tongs are 5 1/2 inches long.
