Presented is an antique, Dutch silver serving spoon made in the late 1800s. This 19th century, Dutch Colonial style piece is very ornate and completely hand wrought. The handle is done in an open twist form and the top has a full figural sailboat with a sailor inside. The bowl is hand chased with a detailed crest with a rampant lion.
The spoon is marked with the Dutch Minerva head duty mark, the lion passant for 833 minimum purity silver, a date letter which I can not 100% identify, but approximately 1890s and a maker's mark.
This piece is in excellent condition for its age and the designs are crisp.
