Presented is an antique, Chinese silver belt buckle. This is a large, statement piece and it was completely hand crafted. The two halves are comprised of Chinese characters. Each side is hand chased and engraved with pretty flowers and leaves that have gilded accents.
This buckle is for a sash or on the waist of a woman's dress. Not to hold up a man's pants.
The back bears a maker's mark and a Chinese character mark. This buckle was made in the late 1800s or early 1900s.
This piece is in great condition, especially for its age.
