Presented is a beautiful American cameo in 14 karat gold. This piece dates to
the 1910s-1930s. The cameo is of a pretty young woman with flowers in her hair,
very well carved and fantastically detailed. The woman's necklace is done in 14
karat white gold wire, set with two diamonds and a sapphire. The setting of the
cameo is lovely openwork with a milgrain finish. At the four cardinal points
around the oval are hand engraved leaves in white gold. The cameo has a clasp
with a safety mechanism, as well as a retractable bail, so it can be worn as a
brooch or a pendant.
The cameo is in great condition. The clasp closes well and securely. There
are no breaks and no repairs.
The clasp of the cameo is stamped 14k. This piece has also been nitric acid
tested and is guaranteed 14k.
The cameo measures about 2 1/4 by 1 3/4 inches.
