Presented is an antique, sterling silver serving spoon made by Durgin during the first half of the 1900s. This piece is in the Du Barry aka Madam Du Barry pattern, which was patented in 1901. The handle and the bowl are cast with detailed leaf wreath decorations. The handle has a Gothic style monogram of the letter E.
The back of the handle is marked for Durgin, sterling silver purity and has a retailer's mark for Shreve, Crump & Low.
This piece is in great overall condition for its age and the designs are crisp. There is minor surface wear to the bowl, but there are no damages and no repairs.
