Presented is a charming gold and enamel bar pin in the form of a bird. This is
an English piece, dating to around the turn of the century. The body of the bird
is made from a pearl, while the wings and tail feathers and head are done in
blue enamel. The enamel work is very well done, thick and dark blue shading into
light blue, quite detailed. The pin has an old, simple clasp like that of a
safety pin.
This piece is in good overall condition. There is a small chip to the tip of
the enamel on the two tail-feathers, but this looks similar to the enamel on the
wings. The rest of the enamel is in great shape. The clasp functions well. There
are no breaks and no repairs.
This piece is stamped and guaranteed 15ct gold purity.
