Presented is a wonderful quality sterling silver tray by Theodore B. Starr of New York, from circa 1885-1900. The tray features applied designs of four leaf clovers and clover blossoms, beautifully detailed. The center of the tray is monogrammed MMH in elegant script, as well as SCW and R + E.J H in block script. This is a heavy and well made piece of American silver work, and would be an asset to any home or silver collection.
The underside of the piece is stamped 'sterling' with the hallmark for Fessenden & Co. of Providence, RI, as well as the mark for Theodore B. Starr of New York who retailed the piece.
This piece is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The tray is approximately 14 1/2 inches across and stands 1 1/2 inches tall.
The tray weighs 603 grams or 21.3 ounces.
