Presented is a fantastic quality silver openwork footed dish. This piece dates to the late 1800s and is of German make. The sides of the dish are intricately done openwork of flower bearing lattices, with dancing putti and scrolls. The center of the dish depicts a scene of a youth driving a two horse chariot, surrounded by yet more putti or cherubs. There is a cartouche on both the long sides of the dish. One of these cartouches is blank, the other has a monogram of 'TS' in elegant script.
The dish is in great condition. There are no breaks, no splits, no dents, no monogram removals and no repairs.
The dish is hallmarked on the underside with Hanau German marks, possibly for Storck & Sinsheimer, who started working around 1874.
This piece has approximate dimensions of 11 1/2 x 8 3/4 x 3 3/4 inches.
This piece weighs 497 grams or 17.4 regular ounces.
