Presented is a wonderful early American sterling silver croquette or pastry server. This piece dates to circa 1858. The server has a round blade, beautifully hand engraved with a basket of flowers and foliage, surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves and acorns. The front of the handle has a monogram of DeF as well as the date June 3, 1858.
This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is stamped sterling and with the retail mark of Canfield Bro & Co.
The server is about 7 3/4 inches long.
