Presented is a large American coin silver ladle by Albert Coles. The ladle is done in a classic pattern with a leaf at the top and scrolls on the sides. It is very similar to Leaf pattern by George Shiebler. The end of the handle is engraved with a crest that resembles a gorget, a crescent shaped type of insignia or armor. The ladle was made around the 1850s.
The ladle is hallmarked on the reverse with the maker’s mark for Albert Coles. This piece has been tested and is guaranteed to be coin silver or 900 purity fine.
The condition is excellent. There are no dents, no dings, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
The ladle is 13 inches long.
The weight is 192.5 grams or 6.7 ounces.
