Presented is an antique, Chinese export silver serving or stuffing spoon made during the late 18th or early 19th century. The spoon was made between 1780 and 1820. The handle is done in a classic Fiddle pattern and it has never been monogrammed.
The back is stamped with pseudo hallmarks. This piece is guaranteed to be 800 or higher purity silver.
This is one of those pieces where it can be very difficult to determine whether the item was made in England or China with pseudo-hallmarks. I decided it was made in China. The lion passant hallmark seemed a little bit odd to me, enough to raise significant doubts about this piece being English. George III's head is worn but not significantly off and the city mark is too worn to factor in.
It could easily be a Joseph Hick's piece, but quite likely Chinese.
The spoon is in great overall condition with only very minor surface wear commensurate with age and use.
