Regular price
$1,680.00
Presented is an antique, late 18th century, American coin silver coffee or tea pot made by William Garrett Forbes of New York. This piece was made around the last quarter of the 1700s and is done in a classic, Colonial American form. The piece is raised on a pedestal base and the body, handle and lid are hand engraved with design. There are two wreath form cartouches that have never been engraved with a monogram.
The base is marked for William Garrett Forbes. This piece is guaranteed to be 900 purity silver.
The coffeepot is in great overall condition for its age. There is a small ding to the bottom portion of the body, a couple of small dings to the spout and a ding to the top of the handle. There has been a professional solder repair to a small portion of the top of the body, but this is mostly only visible on the inside. These small flaws are hardly noticeable.
Capacity: approximately 5 1/2 cups.
The pot measures 10 3/4 inches from handle to spout and is 9 1/8 inches tall.
Weight: 811 grams.
