Presented is a large English antique, Ironstone china serving tray or platter made between 1830 to 1850. Iron stone china is glazed earthenware and this piece is very heavy and solid. The white porcelain or pottery piece has a cobalt flow blue design done in a classic Canton Chinese scene motif. The center features a body of water with trees, traditional Chinese buildings and a ship. This piece is done in pattern similar to the traditional Ironstone Willow pattern. This platter has the old comb back on the reverse.
The underside is marked Iron Stone China Warranted.
This piece is in great condition for its age. There are some minor surface scratches to the center of the platter and some very minor crazing. The 6th photo shows what looks like a crack on the reverse below the stamped 20. This is not a crack. It is blue dye in some very light crazing of the glaze. There are no cracks or serious problems anywhere and no repairs.
