Presented is an antique, sterling silver serving spoon or scoop made by the Unger Brothers during the first quarter of the 1900s. This piece is in the highly Art Nouveau style Douvaine pattern, which was patented in 1904. The handle is beautifully cast with sinuous flourishes as well as a sea serpent and a bearded man's face. The front of the handle has a lovely monogram of the letter M.
The back of the handle is marked for Unger Brothers and sterling silver.
This piece is in excellent overall condition and the designs are crisp.
