Presented is a fabulous German silver and cut glass bowl. This piece was made by Storck & Sinsheimer and dates to circa 1900. The bowl done in a beautiful openwork design, with a cut glass liner. The glass portion has a decorative edge, done in elegant swooped and pointed shapes around the rim. The silver portion is ornately decorated with cherubs engaged in various activities like gardening and fishing, surrounded by classical floral and scrollwork decoration. The bowl stands on four scroll form feet.
This piece is in great condition. The glass has had a couple of minor flakes smoothed down around the edge, but the overall shape of the edge is all intact. The designs on the silver are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no breaks, no chips, no cracks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The underside is stamped with the maker's mark for Storck & Sinsheimer. The silver is guaranteed at least 900 purity.
The bowl is about 7 3/8 inches in diameter and about 6 3/4 inches tall.
The weight of just the silver portion is 678 grams or 23.9 regular ounces.
