Presented is a fabulous Gorham sterling silver bowl, dated 1892. The bowl is beautifully decorated with an openwork rim of fancy foliage, flowers, and scrolls. The rim is separately cast and applied, so the designs are quite detailed and nicely textured. The center of the bowl has a monogram of GT, with a smaller H and T above and below.
This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents,no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The underside of the bowl is stamped with the Gorham maker's mark as well as sterling, the date symbol for 1892, and the retail mark for Theodore B. Starr of New York.
The bowl measures about 12 1/2 by 9 1/4 by 2 1/4 inches, LxWxH.
The bowl weighs 540 grams or 19.0 regular ounces.
