Antique 19th Century Neresheimer German Silver Figural Ship Boat Spoon
Regular price
$216.00
Presented is a fine German silver spoon. The tip of the handle is done in the form of an elaborate ship. The ship is perfectly three-dimensional. The front of the bowl is engraved with a portrait of a man, and the back of the bowl is engraved with a crest. The spoon was made in the late 1800s.
The spoon is hallmarked on the bowl with the marks of the Hanau silversmith, Ludwig Neresheimer and the import marks of the British import firm of Berthold Mueller.
The condition is excellent. In one of the photographs we have two white arrows pointing out a small area where the handle meets the bowl. Clearly this is a solder spot, but I do not feel it is a repair. It is the original construction. If you look at a photo of the reverse, the one with the ruler, you can see there is no corresponding evidence of any repair on the reverse. There are no dents, no dings, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
The spoon is 7 3/4 inches long.
The weight is 69 grams or 2.4 ounces.
