The center has a finely engraved crest of a bear claw raised above a banner that reads: Arma Aptissima Virtus.
The underside is marked with the crown symbol for the city of Sheffield, the lion passant for sterling silver purity, a date letter n for the year 1930 and a maker’s mark for the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company on 112 Regent Street.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. The tray has an excellent finish. There is a tiny ding to the tray at the six o’clock position. There is very minor surface wear as should be expected. There are no other flaws and no repairs.
The tray measures 8 1/4 inches in diameter, is 1 3/8 inches tall and weighs 390 grams or 13.7 ounces.
