Presented is an antique, English sterling silver compote, tazza or raised dish made in Birmingham in 1923. The rim of the bowl and the base are done in a decorative, openwork form. The piece has never been monogrammed.
The underside of the bowl is marked with the anchor for the city of Birmingham, the lion passant for sterling silver, a date letter y for the year 1923 and a maker's mark.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. There is some minor surface wear commensurate with age and use but no damages and no repairs.
The compote measures 8 1/2 inches in diameter and is 3 1/4 inches tall.
