Presented is a fabulous Tiffany & Co sterling silver centerpiece bowl with flower frog. This piece dates to circa 1915. The bowl is beautifully hand chased with leaf and scroll designs, alternating with applied shell and boss decorations. The bowl has a removable pierced lid or flower frog, which is silver plated. Use this bowl for a truly impressive flower arrangement centerpiece, or use it without the lid for a fruit bowl or other type of display. Either way it is guaranteed to make a statement, however it is displayed.
This piece is in great overall condition. There are no splits, no dents, no cracks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The underside of the piece is stamped with the Tiffany & Co. maker's mark, sterling 925-1000 and the initial 'M' for the company director between 1907-1947, John C. Moore II. The flower frog is also stamped Tiffany & Co as well as 'brass gilt.' We do not believe this piece was ever gilded, but it's likely the stamp was used for a wide variety of things. The flower frog is silver plated. Both pieces are numbered '19060' and are certainly original.
The bowl is about 13 1/4 inches in diameter.
The weight for the silver bowl itself is 1268 grams or 44.7 regular ounces, without the pierced lid. The total weight, including the lid, is 1479 grams.
